DC's We Fought The Big One did it's first curated show Sat and invited us to play.
If you don't know WFTBO, it's a long-running DJ night in DC dedicated to off-kilter pop, underground, and shoegaze to name a few. Rick and Brandon go out of their way to find new up and coming music as well as dusted-off forgotten gems and often invite bands, labels, and dj's both current and past to join them at the decks and share their influences. It made sense for the next logical step of WFTBO to start putting on some shows. Saturday's was the first of what we hope to be many WFTBO Presents. Here's a flyer and Blue Sausage Infant and his crew were kind enough to shoot us doing Cathode Ray and post his own performance on Blip. We had a great time playing with Outpost (mem of Ike Yard and Live Skull), The Plums (author of the book No Wave), and Blue Sausage Infant (sounded like some wicked John Carpenter meets sinister Tangerine Dream).
